where to get oil

Default where to get oil

went to halford to get some mobil one oil ie 10w30 and didn't have any.

nearest they had was 15w50? is that any good.

where the best place to get 10w30? and whats considered here as the best oil to use?

Personal favourite is Opie Oils - www.opieoils.co.uk - just ask for Simon. They do next day delivery and a discount for S2ki members.

cheers

the guy i bought the car off made sure it was serviced with Mobil1 all its life.

what grade would he have used? i can only find 15w50

is that okay - or shall i mix in some red line?

I wouldn't use a 15w50 - it's too thick.
I wouldn't mix oils either.
I use Red Line 10w30 fully synthetic. It's a top class, fully ester based synthetic which matches the recommended grade.
Having said that, read the tech. FAQ (sticky at the top of the page) for advice on other grades regarded as suitable.
:edit: oh, and I echo Mytse's Fluke motorsports recommendation, or you might try Demon Tweeks who also stock red Line 10w30. Demon Tweeks delivery is quick & reliable

Yep - 15w50 is way too thick.

I go for fully synth Silkolene Pro S 5w30 - the oil is specifically designed for high-revving engines.
