Default Why are there no AP2s in the UK ?

Okay, the Type S/CR rear spoiler mentioned another thread got me thinking - how come we don't see the Type S imported from Japan (or even standard facelift AP2s) ?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the AP2 engine change means that the later models would have needed to have EU Type Approval again - and Honda didn't do this. The upshot is that there are no 2004 -> On JDM imports to the UK because you wouldn't be able to legally drive it on the roads.

Am I making this up ? or can you get a RHD AP2 imported from Japan ?

It's not the EU type approval stopping a JDM AP2 it's The VOSA model report detailing what needs to change to get it on UK roads. There isn't one and they are expensive to produce. Once they are over 10 years old that is not an issue so not long to wait.
IIRC Japan went AP2 in 2006
The other issue is S2000 in Japan are getting expensive so they are not cheap to import anymore
