)i was wantin the tires as wide as possible.
has the wider tire been tried & tested?
im planning on lowering the car a fair bit with a set of BC coilovers
No, you want the following:
Rota Slipstreams
Front - 215/45/17 (7.5" +45)
Rear - 245/40/17 (8" +48)
I run Toyo T1R's and have no issues with rubbing, other than the slightest touch from time to time on the front arch liner.
Ron (Hypersonic) run's R888's in the same sizes as above and has had some contact with the rears. This is due to the tyre width/wall being slighly larger. I had the same issues when I fitted Yoko's AO48's.
I do run alot of camber though, which means the tyres don't last long

I can only talk for my own experience. I know these fit without rubbing (other than what I said above). If you roll the arches you could go even wider if you want.
Some have also been known to run a smaller tyre profile, but I haven't so I can't comment

People run 255's over here aswell. Some also used non-staggered sizes.

Rota's only come inthe above offset though.
If you buy a set of decent wheels, I:E Volks/Mugen etc. You will get a offset closer to OEM, meaning you can run wider tyres or wheels without making contact with the outter arch.
