Default Window problem (stuck open!)

I got in to work this morning (roof down as usual) and went through the usual routine of putting the roof back up, latch up and pull both window switches...... but whats this my passenger window is buggered.

I tried turning the electrics on and off a few times but no luck the window would not do anything...... no hint of life and set in the full open position!!!! .

My drivers window was still working fine...... neither drivers side nor passenger window button worked...... so I concede defeat and call Chiswick Honda and book in for an emergency fix (my S lives on the street and it looked like rain was coming) thinking it was probably a fuse or broken motor.

See if you can guess how long it took to fix and how much $$$$?

Read on >>>>>>

It took Chiswick Honda 5 minutes to discover I was being a total plank! I had somehow managed to hit the window lockout switch which disabled the passenger side window...... all worked fine!

To my defense I've never touched the lockout switch before and had completely forgotten it existed...... and the fact that I didn't notice I'd flicked it by mistake along with the drivers window working fine completely threw me!!!!

Is it just me being a wally or did you all spot the problem before reading to the bottom of my post?

Oh and feel free to post similar embarrassing stories to make me feel better!!!!

Knew it when I saw it...because its happened to me.

I didn't go so far as the dealers, but went home from work at lunchtime..worried...and then saw the button

I spotted the problem straight away - search the forum for a post by a certain ADE who experienced the same issue - here's the link https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=137647 .

did the same thing and put the car cover over & alarm off until I could plan stripping the door down to investigate. LHB reminded me of the switch

Me too

I was 180 miles away form the dealer at the time, which made it extra worrying - eventually twigged after about 2-3 hours wondering how I was going to be able to drive 180 miles in the rain with only one window up.

I booked mine into the dealer to be fixed. They told me what I'd done when I picked it up at the end of the day. V. embarrasing.....

....glad I'm not the only one to have done this though!

Something for the FAQ perhaps??

Cheers

Jerry
