Default Windscreen damage

In seven years and 150,000 miles of driving, I never got a chip in my windscreen.

Since getting my S, I've got 2 chips after only seven months and 9000 miles. Both came on main roads without a lot of stones around.

I haven't had any of the pitting problems people have mentioned before.

I'm sure the more upright positioning of the windscreen is part of the reason, but two such chips in 9000 mile seems excessive.

The car is going for it's first service today, I'll ask the dealership how many of these they see on the S and other Hondas - I'd suppose they use the same glass.

18 months, 28,000 miles. Zero chips (in the windscreen).
Think you can consider yourself unlucky Rich!

I think the car is more prone to it than most.

V upright screen and just look at the bugs it collects.

I've done about 11K but still at least three nasty chips in the screen.

As Crusoe says though, better screen than paint.

There has to be something about the S which does attract them - I bought the car with one in that had been polished out so it was all and then last summer I picked up another. The car has done 40K miles but my Clio has done over twice that and only one in all that time.

maybe you tend to be going faster two chips on mine was on my new seat and not the honda so it is just unlucky.

I've got about 20 on the bonnet. Just the little tiny stone scratches.

I suspect Honda's decision to make the bonnet from aluminium wasn't based on a weight saving, but on avoiding rust following paint chips.

I think you have been unlucky that's all. What cars have you driven before? Have they been as low down as the S?

Just count yourself lucky that the stone chip is on the windscreen and not in your forehead

Hey Mikey phew you were the lucky one.

Got thwacked by something big the other day, caught me on my ear. Bloody stings like, don't know if it was a stone or a fly but if it was must be dead.
