Windscreen gone
Had RAC do a windscreen on my Alfa.
Stinking job.
My wife picked the car up and I didn't drive it for about a week.
I didn't think to check it, then on my first drive I couldn't believe the wind noise. Turns out the guy had peeled off the original seal which was a kind of hard plastic on the outside edge. The rubbery inner was fine but on the outside of the screen the hard plastic was all rippled from him peeling it off and shoving it back in again. Essentially the bits that should contact the screen weren't, making a decidedly un-aerodynamic car even worse.
Because I'd left it a week....
You guessed it: "#### off Mr. Wilson".
Never again.

Thanks to everyone for their comments, unfortunately my insurance underwriter is The RSA who uses Autoglass - uh oh!
On the plus side I'm the accountant for a major shower manufacturer, the guy from Autoglass wants one and I've said I'll give him a whopping discount if he does a good job. Fingers crossed on that one then...
I'd have never of believed that windscreen repairs were such a minefield for shoddy workmanship!!
Thanks again all

Had mine replaced by RAC Autoscreens, after getting hit by 3 stones in as many days (looked like I'd been shot at) no problems at all.
They used their own glass which I found to be stronger that the OEM Honda glass, as it withstood some further hits without damage.

I had autoglass do mine as an insurance job. They fitted a Pilkington screen. came to my office, got the PA to supply cups of tea even gave him a sandwich too. have had no problems
the only quibble is the insurance companies prefer them not to change the seal - saves a few pounds - unless it gets torn in the removal process. Amazing how quickly a tear can suddenly occur.....

Mine cracked 2 weeks ago, after being hit by a stone. I had it replaced with a Pilkington and the job is superb. It took them nearly an hour but the result is what really matters. They haven't even changed the seal, which woul cost another 130-140 pounds or so...
