Default Windscreen washer jets

After lots of long hard thinking about washer jets being blocked or possibly the pump failing I decided that I was going to try and clean them out.

But what to use, though about curved sewing needles, really fine bottle brushes etc.
None of the above would really do it.

In the chemist I saw these and thought about giving it a go.

Result lots of water sprayed at the windscreen exactly how you want it, no problems with the pump, just lots of horrible gunk removed from the jets.

Simply open the bonnet, remove the piping to the jets, thread the floss through and use the wider furry bit to clean the inside of the jets. Connect the pipes up again, all done.

And then you can use the gunk you have just removed to block up the headlight washers.

I somehow managed to block one of mine, a thin pin in the top end cleaned it out in no time

I have 2 blocked at the moment, but they're on the passenger side so I haven't got round to doing it yet!

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but the search function seems to be a bit dodgy today and this is all i could find.

What did the OP use to clean the washer jets? The picture seems to be missing now.

I tried using a pin and it sort of worked but am wondering the best way.... Thanks!

Just remove them and drop them in hot soapy water for a few mins. Then blow through.

They just unclip from under the bonnet.

Bristles from a plastic brush work

The OP was about some kind of Oral B flosser.
