I worked on the basis i was going to need at least two new tyres and for 300 pounds all in ... winter rubber, smaller wheels and more sidewall just seems like common sense.

I priced up the beater idea, couldn't get anything insured for much less than 250 pounds and add in buying a beater the tyres made perfect sense on the basis the S is the car I like to drive.

To be honest, if the roads are going to fall apart all over again, my spine will appreciate the change if nothing else!

Event currently have the Kumho KW17 and KW21 or something, has anyone tried these tyres on the S?

If you can hang on a few days ( Friday ) I will be able to compare them directly to 17s and FK452.
