Default Wishbones

How much would I be looking at paying to get a full set of wishbones from a breaker/second hand?

I'm looking to get polybushed up, but the chances of having a full weekend to do a job I haven't done before completed are slim, so I'd like to get some second hand, strip them, paint them and get the bushes done to be able to do a straight swap

I sold a full set of polybushed wishbones for £400, so I'd say no more than £250.

Well my first quote has come in at just over £100 delivered

I have a feeling that's quoting for one corner, even though I specified a full set. I've asked for confirmation

Is there anything that denotes it as suitable for a 2004+ model as I'm aware there are differences and I don't want to end up with the wrong set!

If you are just buying lower wishbones then they are the same. Upper wishbones are different between <MY03 and MY04+

The part numbers might be stamped on them.

Upper for MY02 numbers are 52390-S2A-003 (Right) and 52400-S2A-003 (Left)

Upper for MY04 numbers are 52390-S2A-J02 (Right) and 52400-S2A-J02 (Left)

HTH.

Thanks guys,

£75 per corner, that needs to come down!

Is there a consensus as to the best brand of polybush price/performance wise?

Depends what you determine to be 'the best'. Polybushes / Powerflex bushes introduce firmness to the ride of the car. On a scale...

Hardest

Hardrace bushes
Polybushes
Powerflex bushes
Spoon / Mugen bushes
OEM bushes

Softest

So, if you detrmine best to be firmest, go hardrace. If you determine best to be softest / most supple, go OEM (OEM as in replace the arms with new arms as you can't buy OEM bushes).

If you go polybush forget the front rear lower compliance bush, this doesent work at all , fit a powerflex on instead

I have poly bushed mine, threw the compliances bushes in the bin, and fitted powerflex to that pivot

I feel my car is better than OEM now form controlled but now more noise or harshness, have a look at my thread for how i fitted mine somewhat different to the norm
