Based on the other post about engine failures I was wondering if you would fill out an online form detailing any failures you have had / mileage etc. Basically it will be used to collect as much information as possible and put together a searchable database by mileage or fault type.

But it could be useful if it included any other mechanical failures with reference to mileage, excluding wear and tear.

That way it may be easier to spot any trends.

Yeah it would. Not just engine failures.

For example if there is alot of a certain type of failure at lets say 30K this would be pretty handy information to help prevent it.

I voted yes though I'm not sure my car would be very representative or useful in such a database!

IMO such a database would make the S2000 appear unreliable, something that is not true and may put off future owners who come here for information. It's a good idea but maybe it should show how many cars are still going strong and at what percentage the failure is.

As far as I can remember, most, if not all engine failures where retainer failures in cylinder #4, due to miss-shifting/down-shifting thus over-revving the engine.

That's my 2 cents. I vote go for it, but make it complete.

Well it is open to everyone. I mean you dont have to use it only if your car developed a fault. There would be an option to upload images of your car, put down a profile, show off your mods etc.

A full blown database you can search and find both faults and look at mods you might be thinking off, people could also type in the sort of effect the mod had on the car.

Throw your ideas in, doesnt matter what they are if interest is good I'll build it and I'm sure AE would stick a nice link to it somewhere on here
