So what is so 'HID' about blue bulbs? I thought HID stood for High Intensity [b] Discharge [/i].

No discharge in a normal 'hot wire' bulb. Just hot wire.

Incredibly, your S2000 comes with a "CD player" which (and this is the clever bit) will play any music you like. You can even carry several of these "CDs" around with you so as to allow you pick music that best suits your mood. Clever eh?

There are also several radio stations which carry a good mix of music (Radio 2 is my usual choice) and are available nationally. I have to say that Classic FM is scaping the bottom of the barrel a bit - it's a bit like classical Radio 1 - but each to their own

Could be expensive. Suggest you get it checked by a (competent) dealer. Had a lamp fail 4m after getting the car and it turned out to be the step-up transfomer - replaced under warranty. About $950 of our money (350GBP to you). Also, those things kick out about 10,000v so don't fiddle unless you really know what you're doing and/or have an LSU and defibrillator available. Now, 3+ years further on, no further problems.
