Tramlines pretty badly too. I don't think it's designed for UK B roads TBH. I bet it's awesome on fast smooth roads.
I certainly wouldn't take a 348 for a back road thrash, but then I wouldn't take the S either. Potholes and bumps are not natural territory for either car. Then there are the cyclists, walkers and horses.......
The north may be different of course, but down here I get really mad at fcukwits in high performance cars on winding country roads. Every Sunday it seems there is a nasty accident involving a car and a horse and when you look at the road you simply cannot understand why someone would be hooning down it in a car.
Back o/t, one 348 I've seen felt very nervous, others (most) have been much more planted. The later the car, the better the feel/ride/handling. There were a few mods to these cars during the model lifespan, not all of them a retro fit option AFAIAA.
These cars are more grand tourer than sportscar, and I reckon their natural habitat is fast, well surfaced roads, with plenty of sweeping bends.
And posey pub car parks.

Stone chipping and width is probably a reason not to take a fezza on B orads up here though, even if some models could handle the poor road surface.
Enzo'll be turning in his grave at the thought of all his supercars getting whup'd by S2000s
Your mates got bigger balls than me though, Id love a Fezza but the thought of a 2K service or hugh repair bills scares the hell out me, I'll just stick to TVR
You'll have to let me know next time your both going out, i'd love to come along.

Don't hold your breath, it's taken a year for me to convince him to bring it out on a drive with me! Hopefully now he'll realise that it can keep up and will come out again

Having said that, my car rarely breaks the speed limit on those sorts of roads, so if you're after the thrill of vtecing up to 120 you're probably right to stay away.

It's pretty quiet round here and there are some good back roads. You should come up sometime Gad (NE Meet 2?)

I've seen plenty of your photos and I can see that the sight lines are much better where you tend to go out
My mad vtec blasts usually only take place on open roads (pref d/c) where I know the road and can see for miles.
Depending on where I buy - you may see me sooner than you think. It might turn into a three day road trip. Still, not a bad way to get to know the car.
Steve - a good 348 will muller an S2000 in just about any increment. Maybe not on every type of road, but that's not my concern. It will where I am prepared to dice.
I'm considering some modding too - and expect to have closer to 350bhp when I'm finished - that's only 30 short of a 355.........I've done a bit of research on repair/servicing costs. Suffice to say, it's like my Daimler. If you buy the right car, without problems (big if, but you can protect yourself to some extent) then depreciation will not be a factor, even if fuel costs and servicing are high. Depreciation is the biggest expense in owning most cars, yet owners turn a blind eye to it.
If you look at my Daimler, I paid

Or you could come out for some or all of the NE/Jock meet in August. I'll even try and drag Mark along in his 348 if he's still got it

It's turning into more of an exotica meet at the moment - TVRs, Fezzas, S2000s, Austin Healey 3000, Burnie on his moped
