BMW will redefine the benchmark for two-seater soft-top sportscars when the much-anticipated Z4 M Roadster arrives early next year.

It uses the world-renowned 3.2-litre straight-six powerhouse previously seen in the E46 BMW M3 Coup

Just going from the pics, the interior looks cheap and tacky and the rear...good god...all edges and corners

Still like the front though.

And wtf is it about golf bags as a standard unit of measuring boot space ?

I hate the way this car looks.... and it would have to look good to get over the 'badge' issue....

Don't think they've done enough to distinguish it from a regular Z4. From the back it looks just like someone has stuck an 'M' badge on to a standard one (which several mongs probably will/have).

Ah.... so now I have a name to my pain:

FEATURE LINES!!!

Get 'em off! they look sh!te!

More feature lines = more sh!te

Bit disappointed really... other than the feature lines and the 4 tail pipes, I don't see any difference (no afficionado though)

I quite like it.

The fact that it's going to be driven by d1cks and such, common as muck is well... sigh~ Can't see myself owner one ever, I just like it as a car itself.

I like the concept ie sticking the M3 engine in a roadster. Shame it's a BMW. Bet it's going to be the best part of

On topic?

It's still unattractive as a car IMO.

Not bad performance though......as expected.

I think it'll be remarkably different to the Z3 M Roadster. This will be 'easy' to drive quickly with all its electronic aids. M cars are getting quicker but less exciting - at least you still get a proper gearbox though, unlike AMG where you get massive NASCAR spec V8s and awesome straightline thrills but little else.

I'd have one. If only they could sort out the front end...
