Default M Factory 4.57 Final Drive

The MFactory final drive gears are cut from high quality fully Carburised Forged Nickel-Chromoly Steel while also benefiting from our proprietary heat treatment process. As a result, we are proud to offer enthusiasts the best final drive gears on the market today.

By changing your final gear ratios, you can experience a dramatic increase in acceleration, giving you on average, a 10-15% increase in torque throughout the entire rev-range over the OEM Final Drive.

The 4.57 kit has been added to our transmission page on our website.

VERY tempting.

Does this gearset give any whine?.. I know some of the cheaper gears can.

I believe there is some whine. This can apparently be affected by changing the oil. Torco or amsoil are the upgrades. Opie would be the guys for that. I don't think cost comes into it, more the nature of the beast. I will stand corrected though. These kits are engineered for performance and strength.

mmm....

Does anybody have stats on what improvement to acceleration etc this would give? Does a 15% mean 0-60 improvement by 15% as this would equate to about a second off the quotes figures.

I imagine that this also translates into more gear changes, lower top speed etc.

What are the real world benefits and disadvatages?
