Default 3rd annual Fall UBAB...planning thread!

3rd annual UBAB????? HUH....WTF?!!!!

UBAB = Urmil's Big Ass Barbecue

There is no date set, there is no location set, there is no day set, there is no theme set, there are no activities set.

That's what this thread is for.

I'm up for doing it at the house once again.
I'm up for doing it on a Saturday in either late September or early October.
I'm up for doing only a BBQ (I will plan no drives).
I'm up for inviting the Ronin "dent" guy to do "group ding day"
I'm up for helping with quick details.
I'm up for burgers starting at 11:30AM all the way thru to 1AM (next morning).

....ideas, thoughts, sign-ups, food volunteers.....do it here!!!

Man I might even show up for this even though no one is coming down for the Brown County drive.

I want a Pinyo-burger. I'll be there.

So, will each participant be assigned what foods or beverage to bring or is it free-lance?

Will we need to bring equipment like grills or coolers?

Is there a way that I can let all the women know that I'll be flying solo?

May I respectfully suggest that we avoid the September 25 weekend because that's the SpeedTrial track event at Gingerman?

May I respectfully suggest that we do it on Saturday, September 18?

Are you bragging about your big ass? If so, look again.
I don't know what the hell a Pinyo-burger is, or what kind of arrangement you two have with each other, but please leave those activites for another event.

Depending how many people sign up, we may or may not do the "sign-up" method of pot-luck. If it's a larger event, we will do the sign-up. However, last BBQ, people were good to bring what they signed up for and ended up also bringing "specialities" that they wanted to share with others. If it's a smaller event, then we'll just do a bring-whatever-you-like foods potluck. Any shortcomings after we all gather will lead us to a quick grocery store run.

No need to bring grills, but we may possibly have a need for coolers.

You can let women know that you'll be flying solo, but for your sake, don't ask for a Pinyo-burger in front of them.

Unfortunately, Sept 18th is too early for me to host the event. I will mark off the weekend of Sept. 25th as "not-doable".

Walt,

Unfortunately the weekend chosen for the Brown County Drive was a bad weekend for the majority of the Chicago owners that would normally be up for a drive. I think when a big group plans on participating, it feeds the others that normally wouldn't participate and gets them to join as well.

That didn't happen with the Chicago folks this go 'round.

However next summer, you all better organize drives like this. I know next spring/summer I will surely try to have at least one sizable event a month starting either late April or early May. I will be up for regional road-tripping next year with no worries for school....which is one main reason I have to jostle dates around for this UBAB event.

Next summer it's on....the Chicago crowd will be definitely "running" the midwest region!!!
