Default 4/29 Official Fast Five meet - Schaumburg

I got the impression that a Friday night movie meet would be better than midnight on Thursday for most people, so here is the thread for the official Chicagoland-area meet for seeing Fast Five this Friday at 10pm at the AMC Streets of Woodfield. Let's plan on arriving close to 9 to make sure we can all get tickets and perhaps try to park together. If people want to gather earlier to eat together, we might be able to work something out, too, since there are a lot of options for food in the area.

Where:
Food:
Portillos Hot Dogs
611 E Golf Road
Schaumburg, IL

Movie:
AMC Loews Streets of Woodfield 20
601 N. Martingale Road Schaumburg, IL 60173

When:
Meet at Portillos around 8:00 pm

Showtime at 10:00 pm
BE SURE TO PRE PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS!

Sorry to hear that, Des.

If others wish to go out Thursday night, by all means you're welcome to... I just got the impression that this would work for the largest group of people.

I'm not sure about Friday, I'll have to see how it goes this week.

That said, meeting up that early might be problematic. The last time we met up there, they chased us out of the parking garage pretty quickly. So you may not have anywhere to go for an hour.
I'd suggest pre-purchasing tickets online, or having people buy tickets when they get there (around 9:00) and then meeting up at Starbucks until it's time to head in for the movie.

That's a good idea. Maybe meet up for food earlier at a car friendly spot. Portillos, Pompei, Five guys, or even Mitsuwa.

Portillos is always a good choice, and the ability to pre-purchase tickets does make going early a bit unnecessary.

I'll edit the OP accordingly.

Garrison. Don't forget there are 2 portillos on Golf. The Schaumburg one is west of the highway. The Rolling Meadows one is east of the highway. They are almost the same distance from the theater so make sure to specify which one. The Schaumburg one has a bigger parking lot, the Rolling meadows one is less populated and has some adjacent office park parking.

Yeah, and I chose the Schaumburg one. That way we leave the lot taking a right turn, and it's easy to turn onto the street that runs between 290 and streets.

Cool. It's right across the street from a Honda dealership too so I can run and hide out there if the cops come and bust us for standing around, obeying the law, and patronizing local businesses.
