Red face 4.57 install?

I was thinking about buying the 4.57 gearset from Rick's. Does anybody know of a reputable shop or mechanic i could get to install them in the NW Chicago suburbs? Is there anybody in the area that would be willing to do it that has done it themselves before? I'd be more than happy to treat you to dinner and a case of beer or cash? I've thought about shipping it to Hardtopguy, but thats alot of downtime, and My car is a daily driver. Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike

Pm Pinyo his user name is profpin on here. He is a great mechanic and has done many of these installs. You can ask anyone in this forum and they will stand behind his work.

Pinyo is also very resonable on his prices. I drove a car that he put 4.57s in and it felt great I didn't even hear any whine.

Got it. Love it. Best mod I've ever done. I even have some videos here of the gear whine and a little on the acceleration. you'll pull on a stock S2k pretty hard from any kind of lower speed roll. up high the difference isn't as much, but you'll still pull. note that gear whine varies with each car.

I had them, + at the same time I had t1r w/ testpipe, I wouldnt say that You pull hard from stock s2000 as I raced 3 of them and 2 were stock, I did pull but it wasnt really hard, a little more then stock(and my car was pretty strong too, 213whp-stock), the 3rd one was Profpins car, he has 4.77, and I think we were pretty much even, we raced twice and I messed up first launch, but 2nd time around it was all good.
I think it worth the money, but I would get either reinforced or 04+ diff with it.
BTW. I ran (I think) 13.5* with them(I have to find timeslip, maybe it was 13.4*) and 13.8 without them.

Damn 4.77!!!

must make the gears really short...

Sounds like a worth while mod...13.5s is about what a stock e46 M runs!

wow, that gear whine drove me crazy just watching the video..why so bad?
