Default Anyone with Hankook RS2's?

What tire pressures are you guys running for street driving? I just had these installed today and they drive well, but the softer side wall leaves you with a floaty feeling sometimes. What air pressure is best for tire wear as well?

On a side not the guy from Discount Tire side the rear 245/45/16 I gotwouldn't fit well "bead to Bead."

Anyone know what that means? He also said it could cause weird edge wear.

They're not really meant to be street tires. They're for Street Tire autocrossing classes (STS, STS2, STX, & STU).... which just means they can't be R-compounds, and have to have a treadwear rating of 140+.

They're made soft intentionally, so they don't need time to heat up and get soft. They're good right out of the gate for a 90-second run.

Great tires, IMO. It's between them and the RT-615's for best tire for Street Tire classes. If there is an advantage of one of the other, I think the edge goes slightly to the Falkens, though.

i have these hankooks on my car now. i drove them almost back to back with my extremely worn out stock tires last week and could barely notice a diffefence. i run 35 psi on the street, front and rear.

they grip in the cold better than the OEM tires, still slippery in cold wet conditions though. but last time i checked they were 50 bucks less per tire than the OEM S-02's at Tire Rack. for the price of the hankooks, they can't be beat.

i autocross on mine way to much, and they've been pretty good. a few guys don't like them and think they're soft, but I've seen excellent drivers go really fast on them.

35 is what I use for daily driving.

So far I have been really pleased with them, especially in rain. I tooled around Autobahn on Sunday and they held fairly well, however, it wasn't a hard run by any means.

i tend to burn through a set of summer tires quick due to excessive amounts of cone-dodging. i purchased my hankooks late last summer, maybe august. they're down to the tread wear bars currently.

They are absolutely meant to be street tires. Any tire with a 200 tread wear rating is meant to be a street tire first and an autocross/track tire second. Hankook just happens to advertise them for ST use. In order to go fast on these, they need to be shaved down to next to nothing. Any more than 2/32ns and they squirm.

The Azenis RT-615 are better.

I don't mean that they can't be used on the street. It's just overkill. Same thing with the RT-615's. Extreme overkill. You'll never get to the point of needing that much traction EVER on the street. And you pay for it with tread life. They really are meant for the Street Tire autocrossing classes. The Falkens dominate those classes.

Also, tread wear rating is nearly meaningless.
