ATTN Midwest Owners!!!
In having a position with a national club that promotes club organization revolving around the S2000, I want to put together a group "outing" for the Midwestern states.
1). Who's interested?
2). What kind of event would you like to do?
3). When would you like to do it?
Hopefully we get a good response from people in the Midwest (and I honestly mean more than just IN, WI, and IL owners).
Here are the owners of the following states I'm addressing:
MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, KY, KS, SD, NE ND

I guess I will be the first to answer my own questions.
1) I'm interested!
2) Maybe for the first year a tour of some sort, or a TSD Fun Run? One that spans the majority of the states in the region, we could call it Midwest Revolution. Would a 4-5 day event be able to cover that amount of driving?
3) I'd figure early next year to mid-spring time frame would suit as many people as possible.

1.) Sure.
2.) Given that I am thinking of doing that S2000 Summer Tour in July (if that's when it will end up taking place), I am not sure if I can take off another whole week for another tour. For me, anything on the weekends, perhaps leaving on a Friday after noon, would work better next year. Of course, anyone would be welcome to join in on the summer tour; espcially since the route I am thinking about would lead through NE/SD.
3.) Definitely after the snow has melted!

1) Always.
2) I like the idea of a TSD Rally, and was hoping one would happen this year. Fun, "competitive", yet safe and legal. Poker runs are fun too, and can easily be fit into a day. I'm not really keen on the 4-5 day event though, even if it did cover most of the midwest. I don't really have the vacation for that type of event. Also, I drive all over the place as is, having seen vast amounts of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Kentucky this summer already, so I'm really more in for shorter events (long weekend, 2-3 days) for the social aspect. The driving is just a bonus. A good setup is to gather up sometime friday, do some driving, sleep, lots of driving saturday, sleep, some driving and then head home sunday... of course this limits our options in the midwest because there is no real concentration of active owners, and forces people to drive to the "central" point. Chicago has a good group, as does Indy, Cinti, Columbus, and a few others, but those cities are hundreds of miles apart.
3) Anytime between April and October. Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Independance day are all good for the holiday (days off) but bad for the extra traffic.

Doing a 4 day fun run of some type would be great, maybe a tour around one of the great lakes, that would be different and intersting. maybe stay at a variety of Bed and breakfast, and time it for a stop at a auto race event in the midwest( a Cart, indicar, or GP event) would be intersting. Just coming up with ideas hope it's not too much there. I would definitley be intersted.
