Battery Relocation
I'm thinking of relocating my large heavy Optima battery to the trunkwell to clear up some space under the hood. Has anyone done this? Is it hard to do?

Yup...done it. Hard part was routing a power cable through the firewall. Other than that, you'll need to make sure you have a couple of REALLY good grounding points in the trunk area. The metal is covered with a strong anti-corrosion paint. You'll want to make sure that once you get a good ground, you'll want to throw some sort of rubber sealant over it.
I didn't have that problem though, I used grounding spots in the roof well area. I don't have the soft top on the car anymore, it make battery relocation cleaner and easier.

If you will be driving your car in winter I would suggest running a separate wire for ground, but that would be a suplement to the common, so it wouldnt have to be as big, a 8ga would be adequate.
