Default Best Roads for the S2K?

I live in the motor city, and have been looking for fun places to drive with my S2K. Most roads near the metro area are truely equivilent to bombing ranges, with pot holes large enough to park in. Furthermore, most local roads are crowded, streight and ugly. I am looking for nice roads outside the area that are just plain fun to drive. Can anybody suggest a few?

I have enjoyed some of the county roads going west, toward Jackson and Battle Creek, but most are arrow streight, left over from the Jeffersonian surveys of the old Northwest Territories. I'd like a nice road running along a river with turns and twists.

I suspect I will need to go south for some really good rides. Thinking about a run to Hocking Valley later this summer, or maybe the Blue Ridge Parkway. Any and all ideas welcomed!
