Default Beware!

Please be careful of the car shop that you choose! Profunction Automotive did work on my car. From the exterior it looked fine and clean. It is now when I get another shop to address issues I've been having that I realized what a half ass job this shop does! They take your money without hesitation and think its too much when you expect results. I know another member on here that feels the same but I won't name names. Go to someone reputable like Dan Rivers (Quivers) or some other shop that respect your car.

A full story would help, that way it prevents slandering. I'm sure your opinion can be respected but perception from everyone and really well, anyone's point of view is key here (not just yours).

As stated on your facebook post, it seems this shop somehow did you wrong, and while I personally appreciate the look-out, I like to figure out on my own (in person) and would be willing to hear your side of the story too.

Keep in mind though, just because they MAY have done bad work on your car, doesn't mean they have to other NOR does that mean they are a disreputable shop as well.

I've had bad experiences with some shops where the second time they did a much better job, or other people fared better/worse.

Anyways, story?

Sure story goes a little something like this!

I meet a guy Pinyo on forum highly accredited by many as an S2K guru! I decide why not he has a S2K, works on them and seems nice. Little did I know he was asking for absurd amount of money but for quality I was willing to compromise. He ended up going to Thailand and doing cocaine with my money $2000 mind you. This was a deposit given to fully install my turbo setup. Also, before you say I made up this slander keep in mind this is what Mikey at Profunction tell me. So I ask him what next since Pinyo rented Profunction shop space and was their friend, how could they make this right? They told me they could do the turbo build at fraction of cost because I already got tricked. I figured this was the shop making up for the mistake and I took then up on the offer. Mind you this wasn't a basic build so the shop should think before undertaking such a large commitment. I was doing the full dual fuel setup, InlinePro sidewinder, Laskey built motor and all associating parts! They dragged for months on end and blamed it on parts delay. But they just never took my car as a priority because I wasn't paying full price. Mind you I was already out $2k with this group. So I do the build it is compete but jot perfect after a year. I was fed up and decided I would go back to stock and enjoy a daily drivable car. They did that but at the cost of craftsmanship, short cuts and losing lots of my OEM and one of my aftermarket parts. After all this I finally left this shop and found Dan Rivers a honest and hard working guy! Straight forward and wasn't trying to screw me at any point in time! I'm happy where my car is now but after the last NA build from Profuntion, Dan spend countless hours making my car to as close to OEM spec as possible. I know want my money back as Profunction never delivered and doesn't deserve to be a shop in general. The man over there can tune but everything else should be left to the professionals! For pictures on the custom "wire tuck" I paid for go on Facebook and look at pictures they didn't extend any wires just threw everything in my fender and hoped for the best. Really shady company if you ask me! Any more questions feels free to ask.

Never had work done by them but know bunch people who had good business with them far back as when they where called Factory Five, you can't blame the shop for the guy who rents a space from them. So you went from stock to built turbo back to stock?

Yea because the shop could never do it right! And I'm blaming a shop for undertaking a job more than they could chew! And of course others have has success with then likely with basic shit intake, exhaust and likely tune.. Anything major they can and will fail!

Im sorry to hear of the lost of time, money and frustration you got from all this. As I try and put my self in your shoes I find myself making the same decisions you made. I would have been screwed over as you were. It really does suck. I think I have seen your car just once...ever. and that was when it was at profunction being "worked" on by pinyo.

One thing to take into consideration is that when taking over someone else's work ( as profunction did with your car from pinyo) it is a pain in the asss simply because you dont know where the last person left off. I can understand why the build didnt go well. But putting back to stock, they should have done a good job.

I have had dealings with profunction in the past with my build and all I can say is Mikey went above and beyond what I expected. He quoted me a price and stuck with it, in fact, he took a whole saturday to get everything done right, got the parts I needed at the last minute so it would be done when he said it would be. It took a few more hours than expected and he didn't charge me a penny more. My tune came our perfect and haven't had any problems whatsoever. I will be taking my car back to him in the near future to do some upgrades, and a retune. I have always highly recommended them. It sucks that you had a bad experience with them at the fault of another person not even under their employment, they tried to rectifiy the situation, something they really didn't have to do.

So your saying because of the good graces of Profunction. I should applaud them for undertaking my project. And how they wrapped wires dangerously around my fuel pump, used the cap of a bottle to attach three wires with a zip tie, made brackets that were aesthetically nasty and now stuck on car due to stripped screws etc, plastics all being destroyed on my interior, missing nearly half of my screws and plastics from installation, loss of one of my aftermarket parts. Should I keep going? Is this a business that is honest and just tried to fix another's wrong? Btw Pinyo didn't start work on my car so Profunction were the first to work and mess my car up. Pinyo actually did decent work when he actually did work on my car but then he fled the country and never came back until recently I hear.

Yea your right they didn't have to rectify the problem especially if they didn't know how to fix it. The money I invested must have thrown their perception off in terms of their shop's capabilities.
