I have an 04 s2000 with the automatic retracting center console door. The problem is that it doesn't retract anymore. I took apart the console and found the piece that caused all the problems. It's about the size of a dime and it looks like a little itty bitty gear that is spring loaded. I think that spring is busted. Does anyone know if they sell replacement parts for stuff like this? I called the local Honda dealer and he said that they only have the whole center console and not individual parts.... Anyway, he wanted me to bring in my car so they could charge me 200 to tell me what I already know... Can anybody lead me in the right direction?

Call hardtopguy. See if he can help you out. I am sure that in general they only sell the center console as a whole. He might be able to help you out.

You might have to buy a center console to fix it. My advice on that is to check the FS forum and look for one that is scratched up or broken in some other way.
