cold start
I just got my first S few weeks ago and im worried about turning on the car why cuz its like 0 degrees today and i don't drive it every day or start it every day would starting my car in this weather damage my motor or any other part on the car???
It doesn't hurt anything. There'll be slightly more wear on metal to metal surface, because the block should be completely dry of oil....in any case, that's a real small bit of 'slightly'.
The car doesn't need to or shouldn't idle for more than two minutes...idling the F2xc does more damage than not if the car has been driven regularly.
If the cars been sitting through the winter, then idle it for 5 minutes or less. Get the juices flowing through the motor...just know that at idle, the engine is running rich. If you're turning the car on to charge the battery, don't. Just get yourself a battery tender.
If the car's been sitting through deep freeze, don't turn the car on. You don't know the condition of the coolant. You could have frozen lines. This could overheat the motor if coolant can't flow to cool off the motor.
As for when you do turn the car on, yes, turn the key and let the fuel pump prime.

...disagree. engine internals will always be coated with oil unless it's been wiped clean. slight amounts of wear will occur because of the the thin film of oil is not enough to prevent the metal on metal contact (low oil pressure)...
...disagree. as combustion gasses pass through the catalyst converter it produces H2O A.K.A. water. if not allowed to heat up and evaporate the standing water in the exhaust system will speed up corrosin in the pipes...

So wait, there will be metal-on-metal contact at start up or not? Not sure I intended anything different than what you wrote.
Also, what you're saying about dihydrogen monoxide (aka H20) formation is that it only forms as the cat. converter is heating up?
....from my experience as cars sit in cold/warm heat cycles, condensation will occur in the exhaust pipes due to climate, metal, humidity, etc. Turning the car on and letting it idle, or turning the car on and driving it soon after will warm up the exhaust pipes to evaporate any condensation or standing water; unless you're driving your car from your house to your buddy's three doors down.
