Default Daily Driver?

I rented an AP2 in Vegas last month for a day, and really enjoyed the car. I also noticed when I was driving the roads out there are very nice and smooth, unlike what we have here in the greater Chicago area. I am considering the purchase of an AP2, of which I would be looking for a mostly stock example, especially in the suspension area. My question is who here daily drives their S2000? Is it comfortable enough on our local roads to commute with? Also, how is it in the snow? I would be fitting winter tires if I were to purchase one, but would like to hear some local experiences. I am in Downers Grove if it matters when giving me some input.
Thanks,
Ryan

I daily mine. It is plenty comfortable to drive around here. If I could afford a daily, I'd get one, but I love the S.

As for snow . . . I drove mine w/out snow tires and it was terrible. I went 3 weeks at one point this winter w/out even moving my car from its parking space. But I'm out in DeKalb, where the plowing of streets isn't really a priority.

I've heard w/ snow tires it's not that bad.

I'm also in Downers Grove. Car drivers very nice. I have a Ap1 so it's a little rougher and faster then the AP2's :-p But all in all I love the car. I would suggest winter tires for sure. Last winter I had to garage my car almost the whole winter. It touched snow and was all over the place so I put her away. I'm going to attempt the snow this winter with snow tires from Tire rack. They're like $440ish new. The roads are not to harsh, I do get looks for my exhaust because it's upgraded and catless which makes it pretty loud. But with stock exhaust you'll be fine. MPG is good, top down is fun.

I have no problem daily driving my car what so ever.

Loved daily driving mine. Snow was no problem either. Just get yourself some quality snow tires and take it easy on the gas pedal. In the Spring and Summer dialy driving the S is awesome.

Mine is a daily driver. Winter tires for 4 winters with only a handful of days where even with winters it was not worth heading out.

My wife has a wagon so even though the S is highly impractical, if I ever needed to get a bunch of crap from Home Depot etc I was able to. Something to think about before getting the car.

A co-worker bought an 07 8 months ago and is already thinking about selling due to issues about needing to cart around 2 passengers each Saturday.

I daily mine, and it's my only car so I get to work in it no matter what the conditions. It's fine in the snow with the right tires. The suspension isn't too rough for me, but I've heard others complain that it's stiff and rattles you. We have pretty horrible roads here in the city of minneapolis, but I never find it unbearable.

Thanks for the responses so far.

For sure the practicalness of vehicle is something I am thinking about during my consideration of the car. I've accepted it's a small, two seat convertible. I'm more concerned with what the car is like to live with day in and out in our area, especially in the winter.

Also, will a set of golf clubs fit in the back?

Thanks,
Ryan

I've been dailying mine since March, I love it. With a nice set of tires the car feels solid in the wet and dry. My Golf bag fits when I take out my driver and 3wood and put them in separately. Haven't tried putting 2 bags in there though. Might be a bit tight.

Yeah, definitely get a decent snow tire.
When I bought my '07 February last year, all the snow tires were sold out, so I had to get all season tires and man, was it horrible.
But if you drive really carefully, you can still get away with all seasons.
Good luck!

Exactly.
I'm fine with the 3 wood in the bag. Only the driver has to come out of the bag and put in separately.
I still have space to put in my shoes bag, and some other small stuff but I'm pretty sure you can't put in 2 golf bags inside the trunk.
Well, it might be possible if you remove ALL the carpets, spare tires and tools and such, but in stock form, not a chance.
