Lemme get this straight. You are suggesting:
1. Pay $49,000 for a new car with a warraty
2. Buy another car (like an RSX) so you can get the motor out of that
3. Pull the motor OUT of this new $49,000 car
4. Put the motor from the donor into the new car
Is this what you are suggesting? It's not like putting an intake back on so you can have a dealer check something for you, I am pretty sure the dealership would notice a totally different motor in there. Kiss your waranty GOODBYE!
Joe, when you get the car be sure to do some track days up at Gingerman. I would love to see how our track cars would compare out there.

The 55k quote I got was by the dealer. He told me that the US spec Exige will be quite a bit different then the Eurospec.
In Europe... the Exige has the same suspension set up as the Americanspec Elise has on the sport package. The US spec Exige will not come with the standard power upgrades though... So basically- for another 5k... you're getting a custom wing designed by lotus for the car, ground effects spoiler system, functional roof airintake/hardtop combo... and that's about it (oh- lighter wheels and black powder coat as an option)... So really- it's aesthetics only...
but the above options provide you with another 200lbs of downforce around the track and shave about 2s off of your lap times from the standard Elise (accourding to C&D)
(the rear end is quite a bit different too... but hard to describe)

lets not start shit again

The UMW way is to playfully tease. No one is teasing Joe. We don't need to open old wounds or start old fights again. Let it go. EVERYONE please let it go.
