Hey UMW,

I recently picked up a VAFC2 and I need to find a decent tuner that can dyno tune a MY01, with intake, exhaust, & testpipe. Any local tuners that anyone has used personally in the chicago/Milwaukee area? Let me know. Here's the short list that i have compiled so far...

-King Motorsports
-Speedquest (I know they have a dyno, just don't know how experienced they are w S2k's)
-APG (don't know if they're still around, I used to know the owners)
-one6 Motorsports (I'm pretty sure they don't have a dyno, but they do street tune)

Any suggestions, personal experiences, personal connections, etc. I'm very particular about my car so I'm vesting a lot of research into tuners before I make my decision. Thanks all.

 

PRO FUNCTION, they do it best. They're definitely HONDA guys It doesn't look the best, it's just a big garage with a lot of junk laying around but they get the job done right. My bf had his S2k tuned there with a similar set up to yours and his NSX and they did a great job.

AMS. They've done quite a few turbo and supercharged S2000 tunes in the UMW.

 

AMS is pretty qualtiy shop. my car was tuned there

 

i'm looking for the same thing as almostlude. some place thats not gonna charge a rediculous fee for installing the vafc since its unplug and plug back in. i dont kno what tune is on this one so i dont wanna plug it in then drive an hour to a shop.

 

I'm going to "Suja One" on Friday. I was recommended by a forum member. You're more than free to stop by and see the shop and how well they tune my car.

 

where are you located? i may run and take a look in the near future.

 

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm located near Gurnee but distance isn't that big of a factor for me because I want a quality tune. It would be nice if they can also

AMS- great shop but definately a DSM/turbo specialty tuner (beautiful shop and some very sick cars, BTW)

ProFunction-I know that Pinyo is/was working for them, and they have a lot of S2K knowledge

Suja1- Don't know too much about this shop, they did quote me price. (Ness I might take you up on your offer to observe your tuning session with them, I plan on taking friday off of work. Would you mind texting me your phone number to 847-863-8743)

King Motorsports- Honda only, seem to have experienced tuners, but their price has been the highest that I have found.

If anyone has price quotes that they have acquired I"d love to exchange notes with you, PM me to be fair to all the shops.

Suja quoted me $450 for everything. Pretty fair price, especially if they get me where I want - 425+whp on the 3.0" pulley. Someone from the boards referred me to them.
