I was wondering if anyone here locally would install my Clutchmasters Stage 3 Clutch and My either Toda or COmptech Flywheel? I will pay and I will also provide beer or liquor of some sort if neccessary...Also, I would like to learn not in depth but just see the step by step procedure...If anyone is up for the challange and HAS DONE THIS ALREADY ON AN S2000 then PM or post and we cna work it out from there...And no high numbers or else I can get my tuner to do it but trying to save money...

I belive Pinyo said in another thread that he could do it for around $350--$400, but I would ask him to make sure.....is that high?

Check Suja1 (pm susterusu). There are a couple of people that have had experience with them as well (ebrake, chicago2k, and some more)

waitamin... if pinyo's shop (a relatively reputable shop no less) said 350-400, and your shop said 350.. how's pinyo's shop "kinna [sic] high"? it's a bigger pain to "teach" someone the process than to just execute the process itself. tis' the reason our k-12 teachers are generally considered underpaid.

you do realize breaking the flywheel nut off (often) requires an impact gun capable of 400lb-ft+ of tq? and can be quite a bitch? o wait, no you don't, because you "would like to learn". not to mention a clutch job requires dropping the transmission, the drive shaft, yankin out the shifter, replacing pilot bearing (hence a bearing puller), ad nauseam... and THEN you gotta slide that beast of a transmission back ONTO the drive shaft which can take an hour if you're not lucky..

the proverbial: "you gotta pay to play" cliche applies here.

Hey buddy learn to read I asked if anyone not "SHOPS" can install my clutch and flywheel, because I though I could get a better deal...And no I don't want to know the step by step procedure to do it next time myself, but just to see how it is done...I DON'T WANT TO BE TAUGHT...And calm down if you don't have anything positive to add then shove it and tell someone who cares!

I'd take it to Pinyo.

I'd also recommend Pinyo, he knows this car backwards and forwards. I've watched him put in my clutch and it was no easy job. But its your money and if you think your tuner can do it cheaper and not royally screw it up then go with them.

EDIT: I just noticed that your sig indicates that you have the UR turbo kit installed on your car. More than likely the turbo, manifold, downpipe, and IC piping will have to removed/re-installed for the clutch installation. The extra time for this will need to be factored into your estimate.

Since when do flywheels have nuts? I've never replaced a flywheel on a S2K motor but I've taken apart a few honda motors and I don't ever remember seeing a flywheel nut holding the flywheel to the crank. Maybe it's something new I do remember seeing flywheel bolts though. I also remember that it took an impact to get the crank pulley bolt off but that has nothing to do with replacing a clutch or flywheel. Sorry, just a little confused about this flywheel nut.

Im sure Pinyo/P&L wont mind you hanging around while they do the work - but thats for them to comment on - but if you dont want to spend that kind of money then IMHO I would just get it fixed at your local shop.

Honestly I dont think you are going to get the "ill throw you a couple of cases of beer in return for a clutch install" kinda deal from anyone here - especially given the outside temperatures right now.
