Feng Auto Sales
Hey. I'm located in Park Ridge, IL, a suburb of Chicago and was wondering if you guys knew of a place called "Feng Auto Sales" on 3290 S. Archer Ave in Chicago. Their inventory is very .. what shall I say ... sporty?
Anyone heard about Leon's Auto Sales located on 4912 W. Fullerton? They have a 92 lexus sc400 (SOARER!!!) for only $4K. I had doubts and called them and they said its original title with only 68K miles. No rebuilt title and no replaced engine. I'm going to ask my dad to let me use his credit card for an unlimited 30 day carfax reports.
I have another post going in Car Talk about my first car choice and was wondering if any of Chicagoans have had experience with Feng Auto Sales.
Also I'm wondering if you guys have any cars for sales and/or want to recommend a place for me to buy a used car around $6,000.
Some infomation about me...
16 year old
Know how to drive manuel transmition
Not a "street racer" or "drifter", just want to enjoy my teenage years with a sportier and more fun car then my dad's 97' Ford Taurus.
THANKS!

Feng's cars are piles, we bought a 90 240sx from there, got it half way home and it overheated, spewing "coolant" all over, then 2 days later we brought it back, sold it back, it died in his lot when we were selling it back. we also looked at a turbo first gen eclipse there, blue smoke billowed from the exhaust (meaning burning lots of oil.. can be lots of things, just very bad on turbo car), same thing with an MR2, under boost, blue smoke. we didnt find one heathy car there. but it is fun to go and test drive them >
if you want a decent "sporty" mid 90s car, look on the forums specific to that car, and fine one that was taken care of decently... cars end up at feng for a reason (all the cars he has, he didnt pay penuts for.... we bought the 240 for like 1900, he bought it back from my friend for 1000. sold it again for 1800.
i dont trust Feng at all.. just passing along my experience.
Btw, i live on the border of park ridge and edison park chicago!

You really have nothing to lose if you just go test drive them. I live in the area and I personally would never purchase a car from these 'dealers' on Archer Ave.
You know the old saying though, if it really too good to be true...

It'll be more of a headache than it's worth.
My advice: study your a$$ off, you have plenty of time for "sporty" cars when you can afford something that won't blow up ($5k cars won't impress the ladies no matter how "nice").
In a couple of years you'll have a career and the cash to buy really nice toys that you can focus on driving and enjoying rather than worrying what that dripping oil puddle is coming from....

I checked up the cars with carfax reports and some look clean (innocent). So what do I do? There are some really nice cars for nice prices.

I wouldn't trust them, their cars are usually crap.
