Default FR-S Project Featuring HECASH

Big thanks to Harry helping me with this project! This is a completely private project and hobby for me, including privately funded. I love cars and am happy to get back involved in all of this.

As I no longer own an S2000, I still hold it in high regard. Harry was the perfect guy given his history and future plans to help talk about the FR-S

Part 1 of 2 the Unfavorable Review Trailer

Love it or hate it this is a massive project in terms of development.

Coming Soon - Filming Complete
Part 1:Stock FR-S
  • Street Test drive with Harry Cash. One of the most renowned S2000 owners with many firsts including Supercharging, Instruction and a long race history.
  • Baseline Dyno, working through power oddities.
  • AutoX test and tune | Comparing the differences between two drivers in the same car and the difference between a stock FR-S and a modified STX setup.
  • Sway bar experiments, does it matter?
  • Track prep, brake pads and fluid and why is the FR-S so rusty?
  • Gingerman Racetrack, balanced handling is only half of the story.
  • Is it worth modifying the FR-S/BRZ - Part 2 preview.

I know many like this car, I don't care for it. You can do a lot better for the money IMO...

Really looking forward to this as I trust both your opinions. I get that low power can be annoying at the track, but driving a 1st gen miata around Gingerman is incredibly fun even if it wasn't fast.

I helped a recent friend car shop by doing the test driving for him. While I still am not personally convinced the car is worth the money new, I can say it's a blast to drive on windy roads, even if the engine doesn't feel exciting (my opinion, more in the way it delivers power than lack of it), because the chassis / suspension / steering setup is so well designed.

FRS is just as fast around Gingerman. True story. For a new car, I don't think there is much that can touch it on a track for the price. Now if you're looking at opportunity cost and shopping used, then yeah, there are other cars Id rather have. This car is just sooo good around a track and in the mtns. It's not as exciting or involved as the s2000, but I'm past the excitement - I just wanna whoop up on people at the track!

I believe it and I'd agree. Vs used, there's many great alternatives, but it's incredibly capable, new. I'm more of an excitement over sheer performance guy myself, but I'm also not very competitive. Probably because I'm not very good.

Wait. So Dezoris is going to mod a car? I thought he was the anti-modder.

Either way, welcome back to S2ki. I hope you'll drag that Toyoburu thing out to a meet or 20 this summer.
