Gauging interest for Wake the Dragon....
....yes, it's a while away, but dates have been confirmed for April 15, 16, and 17.
WTD 2010 was a nicely attended by the UMW. If you enjoy driving the S2000, the 2010 WTD for the UMW was definitely noteworthy. Everything from coming into the area in the dead of night, IHoP, Cracker Barrel, Drama Inn, and all that driving!!!
Just want to start a thread here in UMW so that we are are aware and that people that are interested can start planning for this...yes, some of us need 6 months (you know, plan around work schedule, start setting expectations and building quality time in the 'credit' column with the spouses, start saving $$$$, start prepping the cars, etc.).
I'm pretty much a go on this and will most likely go a day or two early to have an easier drive down to the Dragon, get a day's worth of Dragon driving out of the way before the crowd starts coming, and then be able to leisurely drive back early Sunday morning.
Anyone thinking about this or planning on going, let's get this out there!

I am absolutely planning on attending. Even in a different car last year, I had a blast, both with the roads AND all the people involved. I'm 100x more excited this year to go down in a REAL S2000.
I also would like to try to give myself two days to go down this time around, if at all possible.

i plan on attending. I had a great time! Urmil i like your idea on going early and coming back at a nice pace.
Note:I will most likely not see any of you guys, as I'd much prefer driving the dragon for hours on end vs hanging out like we did last year

Ok...here's my plan (I know it's early, but still good to get some momentum going):
I'm taking time off from the 13th to the 18th. Not sure if I'll leave on the 13th or early morning 14th. My main goal is to miss all of Chicago commuter traffic (be it the end of day traffic on the 13th, or the morning rush hour on the 14th). If I leave mid-day 13th, I'll probably stop off in Ohio overnight. If I leave the 14th, I'm driving straight through.
I hope we get some good UMW representation on this year's WTD.
