Grand Honda
Would have searched first but it's down at the moment.
Looking to buy an S2000 from Grand Honda, Elmhurst, IL. Straight cash deal. I heard to watch out for them but usually the people with bad experiences post. Any opinions (good and bad) are welcomed.
Thanks!

i had a bad experience. if you can get a good deal, more power to you, though.
i went in to buy a 2002 last year. i told him i would come back the following week once i knew how much i could afford, etc. the guy would not let me leave (i know, i could've just walked out...but i stuck around). okay, i'll see what he has to say. so he puts an offer on the table. his offer, not mine. i look it over, and i accept. the guy goes back to his boss, then comes out and tells me he can't do it. then he says to work with him, because the offer was way unreasonable, i need to get realistic...wtf? why offer it in the first place? idiot...so i left.
a week later i call back. ask about price again. the internet manager tells me 21,4 OTD on the phone. sweet, so i come in to look at it again...looks good, so i said i'll take it. of course, when we go to draw up the paperwork, they tell me no, it was 21,4 + TTL. thanks for wasting my time...an hour out of the way in rush hour traffic...lying to me just to get me to come in kinda pissed me off, so i walked out again. while i was there, though, i noticed the side badges were missing...i asked about it, and the guy said that maybe they didn't come with side badges that year. ha.
i ended up getting a 2003 from texas for 21,5. a few months later, the guy i originally talked to has the nerve to leave a message on my work phone, "bad news...we sold your car! hahaha...sorry! but the good news is we have a 2004 that just came in...call me back!" fack you, mofo.

Here's the deal. They have an '05 yellow S2000 with 50 miles coming in for $26,500. I was told the car was already titled since they bought the car from another Honda dealer auction. Should I worry about this? I'm from California and plan to ship the car back. I'm getting really nervous about this since I don't buy a car that I haven't seen. Given that it's brand new, I may not have to worry about it but I'd hate to have a problem surface after the car has been delivered half way across the country. Part of me says to not even go through this.
Shipping will be about $1500 so it may not be much of a savings after all is said and done. I mainly want the yellow color but there are none to be had *new* in California. Maybe I should get a new 2006 model for the $30K internet pricing I hear. I'm on the 2005 boat since I like the wheels, steering wheel, and seats much better than the '06 model. I don't care for the driving aids and daytime running lights either. I'd like to get an '05 but perhaps it's just not worth the trouble. I could live with an '06.

I looked into buying an 05 or put an order for an 06 at Grand Honda last year. The sales guy was cool, but the prices were defintely higher than anywhere else.
IMO, look for a good price on an 06. You have to wonder why they're buying an aution car from another dealer. Don't dealers just sell or trade without having to title it?
