Default grid life 2016

this will be the first year i wont be attending the spring Gingerman grid life. The pre-sale apparently sold out in under 5 minutes, and I didn't even try for the general release. Who was quick enough to get tickets?

what track days/events does everyone have earmarked for this upcoming season, if any?

I'm just doing wmhm this year.
I'm not a fan of the car show and music crowd of gridlife.

I'm kinda with you there, Jeggy. the first year was a blast being a bit smaller, but last year was a zoo. i actually opted to stay in a hotel on friday so we could get some sleep.

it seems that it's more catered to a party than a track day at this point. certainly fine if that's what you're looking for.

i did attend gridlife at autobahn last year and that was fun. it did have a car show, but that was very minor and it was essentially a well ran track day.

Glad I passed up on this years event then, hopefully they have some more track oriented events instead of party events in the future. I don't like to drive while lacking sleep/hung over.

I got a time attack ticket. I almost forgot about it. Took about 10-15min to sell out during presale. The public sale took less than 1 minute actually.

Gridlife is what it is. It is designed to bring all the seperate car enthusiests together and also intruduce the younger generation to trackdays. I think they do a fabulous job. That first trackday can be a big leap for some people, esspecially if you dont actually know anyone attending some events. Gridlife is a perfect opertuninty to get someone like that on track who otherwise may not have. Im getting older(31) and cant party like i used too...i had zero issue getting enough sleep in the paddock. If you want to party well there is a massive on going on, nobodys forcing you. And over by track exit its relativly quiet.

To each his own.

Im super cutting back on trackdays this year, hopefull to save some to address the safety side of things a bit more. Im planning on

Gridlife shakedown and instructor training event
Gridlife rd1 time attack
Wmhm vtec club time attack
1 or 2 weekday cgi or similer events

I only registered for the Friday of Gridlife as last year Friday was pretty open on track and we got tons of track time before things got messy on Saturday/Sunday.

Will do WMHM as long as I can get tickets.

Looking at Road America, as its been a track I always wanted to check out.

Will try to get in on WMHM, but will also do a Putnam Park event, and will likely get out to Blackhawk Farms as well. Possibly Road America for the SCCA Drive for Babies event.

My first year going as well, me and my friends senior year so thought it would be a last good hoo-rah for us. Super pumped and get to make a mini road trip out of it.
