I check my throttle cable every oil change. People are just over reacting.
If you have slack in the cable of course the pedal will be softer.
Its like someone with too much air in the brake lines. If you bled the lines for them the pedal gets firmer and people will think you installed a 4 piston ceramic brake kit.
