Default Help

Hi everyone!

I am looking for an inexpensive home audio solution that isn't bulky and makes my
lcd sound just as good as it looks.

Anyone have a good soundbar option or a 5.1 speaker option that doesn't take up too much space?

Willing to look at used if anyone on this board is willing to unload/upgrade.....
Thx!

A cheap way to do it is look up some older model bookshelf speakers from a decent brand and buy em on ebay. I like Boston Acoustics and Polk Audio.

You don't want to mix speaker brands or different models. Also its agood idea for your speakers to share the same tweeter for an even sound stage.

I think its a huge waste of money to buy new speakers since the technology hasn't changed all that much.

hope this helps

Whatup! haven't been on here in a long time...

Anyhow.

pickup a new or used receiver (best buy or online sub $200 receiver will do just fine). Just have HDMI ports.

Then pick up a used set of book shelf speakers or a component set.

I picked up a Klipsch Quintet 2 set for cheap on craigslist. They still sound phenomenal. And I just bought a cheap subwoofer for $75.

$450 ish you should have a real nice system for your tv.

Or go simple and just get one of those home theater in the box sets. $300-$400 you should be good to go.

Last I checked Onkyo makes the best bang for the buck HTIBs. Check slickdeals or the Onkyo refurb site for the best deals. You should be able to get a decent receiver and speakers for under $400.

I have a Yamaha DSP-A1 in Gold sitting in my storage closet looking for a new home. It weighs in at about 60 lbs though. I also have a set NHT Super Zeroes bookshelf speakers.
