I'm game to try my hand at some auto-x, too. Looks like a blast! I'll have to start shopping for a helmet. Any advice on helmets from you experienced guys?

Dave,

So far from what I've heard is as long as the helmet is SNELL approved then it's accepted. This means MOST of the motorcycle helmets can be used for autoX... can someone on the aboard verify this??

I used to ride so I still have my motorcycle helmet and would like to know if I could use it for autoX...

Thanks,

K
I'm almost certain that motorcycle helmets that meet the snell 2000 or above rating are fine.

I purchased a G-Force open face helmet for around $150 4 years ago or so from http://www.racerwholesale.com/catalog/

the lining is wearing out in some areas, but otherwise no complaints.

I did a google search and found this:

http://www.saferacer.com

http://www.bellracing.com

http://www.apexperformance.net/cartgenie/pg_helmets.asp

I used to ride so I still have my motorcycle helmet and would like to know if I could use it for autoX...

Thanks,

Any helmet with a DOT M90 or highter is good this year (M95 will be minimal next year), I suggest getting something with a minimum of a M2000 rating and you should be good till the end of 2010

If you plan on doing a lot of track days, start looking into Racing helmets (link above) with a Snell S(a)2000 rating . Or you can just get on like that cause your a REAL BIG S2k freak!!
