Default Holy cheet!

Took the S2000 out today to work. Cold, rainy and rolling on some Azenis 615's, it sucked donkey balls driving.

I forgot what kind of white knuckle experience it is driving in the cold with tires like this!

I sure hope people that are still driving their S2Ks are planning on driving on suitable tires through the Fall and/or Winter.

Yeah, I switched to the all seasons last weekend for a group drive. Car doesn't feel anyway near as sharp with the A/S on, but it is somewhat safer.

That reminds me, I now need to buy a set of wheels & tires for the new Benz, I knew I should have got AWD

At least in the wet/cold. They're pretty good in the dry.

Personally, I'm apposed to all-season tires. Winter tires (or winter car) in the winter and super extreme maximum performance in the summer. Why compromise?

I put on Dunlop Wintersports last week and so far they are working well. Compared to the much larger Pilot Sports that were on the car, these ride alot better in town and the drop in performance and feel at 7/10ths on the street isn't as bad as I expected. Two thumps up so far.

sw05s2k: Put winters on the Benz and you'll be good to go. We sold our Subaru this year partly because our 325i does so well in the snow with winter tires. It's alot of fun to see how far you can toss it before the DSC kicks in. My wife primarily drives that car and she's had no complaints about traction over the last two years.

Me too, they will only see the pavement now when the temps go below 50 consistently, I don't like driving it now with the A/S on since it feels like crap.

I plan on it, but the traction control is uber sensitive so I don't know how much fun that will be. I can't take off from a stop right now without it kicking in, it's currently wearing Continental Sport Contact3's, which are dry performance tire and don't like the cold much.

I put my winter wheels/tires on this afternoon before work. Direzza Star Specs stick to the ground till the air temps are below 35* at night. (I work 2nd shift so I'm driving home at midnight.)

AP2 v1's with El-cheapo Hankook Icebears have done great in the last 2 winters. I'm totally happy with their performance. Sidewalls are a lil soft but it makes for a nicer ride.

I have to get used to the sliding all over again Held a nice drift through a neighborhood intersection on my way to work. lol

Icebear W300? I have these and like them for the winter. More comfortable ride for sure, but still pretty good handling in the cold.
