Default How was your race weekend?

Seems like this was opening weekend for a lot of people to run the S the way it should be run. Where were YOU? Any interesting stories?

I was at Road America this weekend. JustJustin was there too. Reaching speeds of 120+ mph! With a 90 degree turn at the end! Saw a silver S there to but don't think he was running.

The best was when, at the end of the first day, Justin asks me if I can take him into town with a gas tank since he is empty. I said I didn't have much gas myself, but should be able to make it to the gas station. About 2 blocks away from the gas station my car starts to loose speed. Out of gas! BTW. Empty tank = 150 miles (12 mile trip to the track since last fill up, taking it easy the first few sessions in the morning, full throttle driving as the day progressed).

I was at Gingerman with the "Blue" car.

I was having some braking problems. I think my tire pressures were too low in the first session and I cooked the brakes. I was struggling with it the rest of the day.

It was still fun. I never managed 120 on a straight, but I did get 105. (And that was WITHOUT the benefit of the longest straight in North America. )

There were several S2000's there. Including one from Michigan with almost the exact same lisence plate as is on my S2000.

There was one crazy guy who thought it was an actual race or something. He nearly took out every car in the Intermediate group at one point or another.

Oh god, yep, it's like those videos I see where they show the S2000 smoking Ferraris, and Lotus cars, on track days.

And then have titles in the video like they won big, and it was not even race.

Based on your screen name, I'll bet it was you.

Here is my plate (on the right):

The one I saw was REVS 2 9

Pete, you would have loved RA. A lot of american muscle there, mostly 'vettes. Saw one that was the same edition as yours. They must have been pulling at least 140 on some of the straights. Your camera mount worked great btw (let me know if you want me to drop it off or if I should just bring it to the next meet (speedquest?)).

I can't wait to get back to gingerman though. Good to hear there was a decent s2k turnout.

Actually, there have been WAY more S2000's in the past.

I can get it at the SpeedQuest meet.
