I got up to almost 155MPH!
It wasn't in the S, and it WAS on the track.
I was in Vegas this week on vacation, and part of my vacation was designed around going to Vegas Motor Speedway to drive an Indy-style race car. The company that runs the event is located here: http://www.driving101.com and they have facilities to do it here in Chicago too.
It was pretty cool. The car REALLY sticks in the corners. It pins you hard against the side of the car, and the sensation is very intense.
It's pricey, but it was fun as hell. Given the chance, I would do it again.

no joke... both times were on picture perfect, wind-free days. I had about an 8 miles stretch (or so it felt) with minimal traffic (which means at least 2 free lanes in my book).
I've ran with other S2000's, and have been asked many times if it was modded. (which it is not)...
who knows... the theory is that just got lucky, and managed to buy a faster than usual S

(not to mention... I'm a pretty ballsy driver... I hit triples everyday on my way to work which is 10 minutes away... and I grew up racing junior kart)
when you get above 145... you will slow down going up hill... even when floored... and accelerrate again going downhill... kinda neat.
