Okay, had every intention of driving me S throughout the winter. But, after getting stuck in my parking lot at work 3 times trying to park and not being able to get up my driveway (had to take a good ten runs at it and it's only about a 13 degree incline) I decided that I had to do something. I just drove home my new Civic Si (blue too).

Very exciting. It drives both downhill AND up. Very cool. Just wanted to share my excitement.

Congratulations on your new purchase: smart move, in my opinion. As I was driving home from the SW suburbs to the North on Tuesday, through the blowing snow, the traffic slows down a bit north of O'hare and what is off on the shoulder of the road? An S2000 facing the wrong way and a Volvo. Didn't see any serious damage......though it may have been on the side facing away from me. I'm driving a Subaru Outback on the bad weather days. Enjoy your Si.

Very cool, congrats! But if memory serves me right, weren't you thinking of buying just a beater car for the winter? And now you ended up buying a new Civic?

You didn't trade in your S2000, now, did you?!

Wouldn't snow tires have been a bit cheaper than a whole other car?

No, I didn't trade in the S2000. Yes, snow tires would have been cheaper, but snow tires wouldn't have come with the spiffy shifter in the Si. Anyway, the Si's are going pretty cheap.

Ulrich, you are correct. I had been thinking about buying a beater for the winter, but I decided that I would like to have the Civic and there are so many options for mods in the future. It will be a better car for the snowy months and a fun long-term project for the coming summer. Since I have recently disposed of a spending-crazy husband I suddenly realized that I actually do have disposable income! Matt is already helping me pick new wheels and talking about lowering it in the spring. Hmmmmm......so many options.

awesome.

I always like Civic Si.

I used to have snow tire in my S2K. But, you know what. It looks pretty stupid in 6 inches of snow.

I am there with you Ulrich. S2KGirl, if you don't mind, how much did you pay for the Si? My brother just bought one and cost him $16,500.00.

It's a 2003 and it was in the 16's so I couldn't pass it up.
