Default Learned my lesson

So Saturday I went to the status car meet. Was chilling with some other people and one of the guys said he had a sub and amp for sale. I took a quick peek at it and said lets trade for my ps3 (with nothing just the ps3 alone no wires nothing) so when he considered doing it I was pretty happy cause everything seem legit. Well today I wa hooking up all the wires and I had to take off the amp to fit in my trunk. So when I started taking everything off I looked at the wires. The wires looked like they were sliced and stolen out of another car. Well once I took off the amp one of these pieces came out( I can't remember the name a the moment) from a wire being short circuited. When this all went down seem like this was a fair trade but these subs were obviously stolen out of another car..... Being 16 and not being smart all the time, I learned my lesson. Has anything like this ever happen to you?

I was duped by a "friend" on another forum for about $100.00 - turns out he scammed several people across 3 different boards for about $1000.00 if not more. I can't say I learned my lesson since I still make friends over the internet. Before he conned me I had been in contact with him for a few years even flew up to Canada to hang out with him. We've all been had in some form or another.

I'm one of the guys that has fallen for buying "white-van speakers". I ended up selling them on Craigslist, since they aren't inherently illegal, just crappy products sold at what SEEMS like a good deal at the time.

^^^^^ hahahaha

I got dupped by those "sweepstakes" at the mall where they have a car roped off and you fill out a form for a chance to win 25k or the car.

A month later they called and said I won. All I had to do was come and collect the prize. It was at some country club. They asked a lot of financial information. I lied a lot. Turns out in order to win the car I had to buy into a membership at the country club

And I've also been suckered into loaning money to "friends" that never pay me back and never had the intention to.

I'm careful of who I call friends now and very picky of who I hang around with. To the point of other people think I'm snobbish/asshole.

I bought an iPod nano once, the guy said the battery was dead. I was in a rush, so I said ok yea sure, gave him the money and off I went. I plugged it in, and it turns out the screen didnt work at all, the iPod was broken. I wondered why he wouldnt give me his phone number. From his email address though, I was able to get his phone number, his school he went to, full name, and his address. In the end I just left it at that, didnt pursue anything with the information.

Ya, bought a i-phone 4 on craig list. Meet up at a parking lot with limited light. Before hand in couple hundreds dollars, check the phone of course, it can't switch on, salesperson said the battery is dead and I stupidly believed him and handed him my hard earned money. After that I went into the closest walmart and get a car charger for the i-phone. Still couldn't switch on at the moment, thought it takes some time for the phone to charge. So I charged the phone while driving back home. After 1 hour and so drive, I tried to switch it on and it just never switch on. Called back the salesperson and his phone has never ever switched on again. Figured out it was a scram, went to the police office and officer said besides filing a report, there's nothing that they can do to catch the guy. So, learn from my experience and always check or test out what you're going to buy before handing over your hard-earn money.

For reference, if you are going to buy a i-phone 4 or 5 from an indian guy on craiglist and the meet place is at Deerfield, make sure you test the phone!!

There's so many stolen parts (whether audio or car parts) going around that it's inevitable you'll come across it. Most of the time if i buy used stuff it's off the forums. I figure at least if you get scammed or the seller is selling stolen stuff, you can notify a moderator, flag him, and make the forums aware he's a scammer/thief.
