Default Michigan Owners

Hi Guys
I'm looking for some suggestions/input from the Michigan contingent for having either a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly meets to keep in touch and grow the community.
It was painfully obvious at the Dream Cruise Friday that we do not meet up enough and there is certainly enough of us around Metro Detroit to put something together. I really enjoyed hanging out and talking with everyone at the church parking lot and I'm looking for some suggestions for meeting spots, I know not everyone will be able to attend each and every time, but I'd really like some input on this.

I am kind of far west of Detroit, but I'm not opposed to driving, so any suggestions would be appreciated. This is also not limited to Metro Detroit, I know there are owners elsewhere in the state so by all means please include those suggestions as well.

Be sure to include which day(s) would work best for you - weekdays or weekends.

Thanks,
Sam

I like German Park Picnic (last saturday of every month during the summer). It's just northeast of Ann Arbor. It's an event on its own, but it might make a cool location for a monthly meet. We'd want to get there early to park in the "first lot" because the "second lot" gets really dusty -- dirty S's are no good. Maybe the fact that the "lots" are grass might be a deterrant, but I didn't have any trouble with my S.

The location is right along Siepel's route responding to the post regarding fun roads in Michigan; so, it might be a good spot to end a group drive. See: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=616305

i agree. i think the more we get out the better, and the more people around, the more it's all worth it. i think i've made it clear i think meeting up with you guys was a lot of fun, and while it's nice to not have too go too far for me (D-C meet was 10 miles from me), i think i'd be best (and fair) to move around the meet locations. i think we all bought our S' to drive, and no better time in michigan than the summer. with that being said, we can organize driving out to various locations with cetain time hacks for certain land mark areas (like saying the group should hit a certain road/area by a certain time incase the chance of people more local wanting to join the group). weekend's would probably work best for most people, though keep in mind college football saturday's and NFL sunday's are coming up soon!

maybe just plan something out for a couple weeks in advance to go try a new area?

Everybody got lazy is what's happened.
Where were you during the Dream Cruise, Perry?
I thought you were the last one to miss it!
Did you bring out the NSX and had it parked somewhere near 16 & John R?
I saw a blue NSX parked right next to a 300ZX last Friday.

I'm up for anything really. I will admit that I don't know the Metro area very well at all, but I am willing to drive wherever you guys want.

Basically, I'll come to you, since I'm really the only one out west that I know of. Ann Arbor, or thereabouts would be ideal (kind of central), but I don't want that to stray anyone else away.

I like Kamron's idea of the park, gives plenty of space and looks like a neat place. I'm open to anything at this point.

I was out in the CR. LOL Yep that was me a buddy at BBW on Friday. I figured there would be fewer CRs than NSXs but was wrong

Another idea might be to organize a group drive around the pioneer wine trail, my +1 loves wine tasting.

German park is fun if you have a large group, they have long picnic tables and such that work well with a big party...not to mention buckets of german beer.

Once upon a time I also thought an "S2k at K2K" meet would be a good idea, and suggested it, but the idea died a slow and painful death, maybe it's time to renew it?
