Mid-West Owners Poll
As you know MI, OH, IL, IN, WI, and MN cuts a wide path. It's a large region. We all know they sell a lot more S2000's in CA, TX, etc., but the number of S2000 owners in some of the Upper Mid-West Region's states should be sufficient enough to start up their own smaller, geographical area -- provided there is sufficient interest and a co-ordinator volunteer for any new defined area.
Things of regional importance such as track days at Gingerman, Elkhart Lake, etc. can still be easily communicated between the UMW states or re-defined areas.
So I thought I'd do a feeling-out poll to see what other's think. For lack of imagination, I'll break it down by state.
Additionally, the area can have it's own 'local logo', as the Bay Area group does.

there used to be a michigan forum, but i think due to lack of action, they bundled them all up. i think there are quite a few people here from michigan, and especially the metro detroit area. i'd love to try to organize a mini-meet if there was some interest. i've thrown out a few ideas before, but i'll post them again here:
As soon as good weather rolls around:
1) some type of s2000 car wash meet?
2) some type of s2000 nite in royal oak?
3) some type of woodward cruise from ferndale/royal oak to pontiac?
4) some type of park gathering (i.e. kensington)
5) a windsor meet to snap some photos with the detroit background
i'll post again as good weather is on the horizon to remind everyone.
wasn't there a mis2000 yahoo group also?

I have tried to organize one Woodward cruise event this year, there is just not too much people interested. Therefore, I started my own board surround Ann Arbor and SE Michigan. (Ann Arbor is easier). I think there are 3 S2000 owners on the board. I try not to do too much racing oriented stuff, but that is the only thing I know. So, if you have any other idea, you are welcome to bring it up. Right now, the event we have in place are weekly meet and some Go-Kart racing in K2K. We have done Viper Plant Tour (with enough interests, we will do it again), BRD Shop (KAhmed79 works there). I am planing on renting a parking lot in the winter to have everyone practice some car control skills. Maybe that would be a cool thing to do. Also, maybe a tour in KaTech (the people that build Corvette C5-R engines). Oh, the board is in www.aacarclub.com.
The Yahoo MI S2000 Owner board is organized by Keith. I still see him once in awhile on M14. The traffic kind of died down. We had an impromtu meet in the summer. But, only Pete and me showed up. Rolando was too late that we all left Local Color in Novi. Since Pete is back to Dutchland, we have one less member here in MI.
If you guys interested in another meet, I would love to participate.

Stealthy, when I lived in Clarkston 25 years ago they used to do 'ice racing' on the lake across from the Waterford Hills Race Track in Feb. If I recall correctly it was put on by the Oakland Cty Sportsman Club which own's Waterford Hills. It was an absolute blast. They had various categories based upon size, hp, and tires (studded tires were still allowed then) and timing/scoring. That might be something worth looking into. Any winter car will do and it's was not dangerous at all except for the 'corner workers' who would reset the hay bales that outlined the course.

as a reply. Thanks.
