Minneapolis
Welcome Maggie! These MN people are popping up like crazy. If we can get everyone together this summer we might have 10 from MN alone.

I bought my car from Hopkins Honda the week before Thanksgiving. They were the only ones who would call me when the 2002's came in and the only ones willing to negotiate. At the time they still had a 2001 and 3 2002's (black and silver) on the lot. I should be getting a build date on mine any day now. I really did not want to get one in January, due to our 'typical' weather. Who would have known that I could have driven it most of the winter!
Another dealer told me "we don't do call backs". I left my card at 2 other dealers and they never called me. The only other responsive dealer I found was Vern Eide in SD. However, he could not match the deal at Hopkins.
Which dealers do you recommend getting service from?

CHOWBOX - after 9/11 there things were quite uncertain. There were several gas stations in the Twin Cities that WERE actually charging $4-$5/ gallon. This was only for a short period of time.
Long story... ->
Not only was it a chaotic time at because of 9/11, it was a chaotic time on TwinCitiesGasPrices.com too. We monitor every price that is entered, and it is usually easy to spot bogus prices. Not only that, but our members inform us of bogus entries. Plus we have a way of blocking previous offenders from posting bogus prices again. I personally saw one station at over $4/gal. During this time, our web site was unindated with about 100,000 visitors in 3-4 hour time span. It seems that some people wanted to scare others by posting incorrect prices (like $5/gal). Because of the uncertainty of 9/11, we were not sure if the prices were accurate.
We think that we're getting 95-99% accuarcy on the web site right now!
I was here under a different name (toewsj), but I forgot my password, and the email reminder was being sent to an account that was no longer around (zdnetonebox.com closed up shop!). So, now I'm here as GasBuddy!!
Now my fingers are tired from all of that typing!!

I too saw high prices. I'm just saying that it's unfortunate that we couldn't depend on the resource in that time of need. I never gouged on prices & I am very proud to say that. We came close to running out of gas that night (our Rosemount location did). And I'm not blaming you by any means as you provide a valuble recource for communities across the nation. I am hoping that we can buck the SA clinch on the market someday as they do rule our city as far as the price of gas goes.
