Default My car is 10 years old today.

I bought my car 10 years ago 9-21-1999.
When I first bought the car they said four years and the car is no longer going to be made. I thought great this car may be worth something someday.

I went to the dealership cause they called me and said they have a very cool car coming in. And I was a loyal customer. So I went to the dealership and they showed me the car sitting on the car hauler. Could barely see it, but I new it was special. They could show me the whole car the next day. Said they had orders not to show the car till the 21st and that was the first day the car could be bought in the US (at least in Wisconsin). Another guy was looking at it too.
So they said first person to get her the next day could buy it for 5k over list. So I showed up the next day and loved the car. So unique and love at first sight. The price went up to 10k over list, so since I had money at the time I said why not. I even had to pay lux. tax on a Honda. Crazy but I paid for the car in first year so I really paid less then most who took out loans. I had to have it.

I am original owner and have a vin of 269 which is one of the first in the US. I would like to know if anyone else is original owner and have a vin close to mine. Oh and it is a Silverstone.

I have met so many people who I call friends due to this little car. I have had some very tough times and even tried to sell it, but luckly it didn't sell.
Those who know me, and there are many over the years, have been wonderful.
The car has plenty of cosmetic mods, mostly Mugan. And some special track mods too. I have not babied the car, I drove it the way it was designed to be driven. However, the car is mint and no serious work has been done to it. Rear end and left axle, but other then that no dents or scratches of any size.

My biggest mod was to have fellow S2000 friends add handicap controls to the car so I can drive it again. And after a year of just looking at it or being a passenger I now drive.

I love this car, the looks I still get driving it and the many friends I have made due to it.

My thanks go out to first Honda and all of you who made this little car mean so much to me.

Absolutely awesome story, Keith. You're definitely one of the great people I've felt lucky to meet from my shortish (hopefully extended in the future) ownership of an S2000 as well. to you and another 10 years of S2klove.

That's awesome. Not a lot of "original" year one owners left I imagine. So glad to see that you're still able to drive yours. Here's to another 10!
