Default NAIAS 2010

We're planning on going to the auto show tomorrow. We'll probably be there first thing in the morning, then we're gonna swing over to Hard Rock Cafe around lunch and try to check out Dallas Green (City and Colour) who is suppose to have a free meet&greet/acoustic session. If we don't finish the auto show in the morning, we'll swing back over there later in the afternoon/evening to finish up. I'll try to take some photos and post them up here along with comments. Feel free to do the same.

This year's show does sound more exciting than last years show (at least it's not all about the bankruptcy and attack of the chinese auto makers).

Urgh, so I brought my digital camera, but when I got to the show...dead battery. Anyway, here's a few pics I took with my shotty camera phone:

BMW Classic EV -- they just don't make them like they used to.

Is it just me, or does a rebadged A5/S5 suddenly become the next VW concept? Totally lacking in originality here!

Lotus Evora, the new bigger brother of the Elise/Exige, more useful for the streets, but a step backward on the track? Costs twice as much.

R8 Droptop,

MB CLS 550, the photo doesn't capture the paint as well as it should, but I couldn't take my eyes off of this incredible matte finish like nothing else I've seen before.

Honda CR-Z, oh how I miss my CRX, It's good to see this back in the lineup.

Hyundai EV concept with strange front bumper LED display -- the best thing about this is modding the display to say things like "learn how to drive M.F.!!"

I'm still trying to figure out if I want to go or not. I got an email from my friend at Mercedes saying I should go on Wednesday, but we'll see.

Yeah, it seems all the exotics have left Detroit We will need a replacement car for Holly later this year, I'm just not too sure about going. It's not like you test drive them while you're there.

Hmm, Chicago show might be a better option, I'll look into that.

I'll likely go to the Chicago show, as I have a couple times over the past 4 or 5 years.

heh, sorry its limited to "media" personnel only, you have to sign up (and now its really hard to get in because too many people who weren't legit were coming) so i signed up over two years ago and i got in.

Oh well, thx for the heads up. I'd be sure to go this time around. I want to see the CR-Z in person! It's no S2000 but it's still pretty nice.
