Default Need help clearing my diffusers...Anyone up to the challenge?

Hello,

I'd really like to clear my diffusers, but have zero confidence in my own ability to do it. If anyone in the area with experience is up the challenge I would REALLY appreciate it.

Compensation is negotiable...

Thanks,

PJ

Theres a lot of people that have expressed interest in this, however there has been nothing really set up. I know Pete and Urmil have both done them. I think Kevin (shinji) also did his own.

I thought we were going to do this at the BBQ.

If the oven is full, we can alway use the grill!

I was one of the people who expressed interest in clearing the headlights. I would offer up my place, but I live in Champaign which is a bit far for most people.

So is it definite that people are clearing their headlights at the BBQ? If so, I would definitely want to come. I decided to go naked (referring to the lights, not me), so I am good to go at anytime.

I did mine. It was a pain.

If you do it at the BBQ, be prepared to have lots of room cuz the front bumpers need to come off first.

Then you'll need some large ovens since you have to bake them to get the glue soft prior to opening them up.

The tricky part is to opening up the lamp housing and getting them back together with a good seal.

Heat gun helps. Make sure someone has one since the oven heat wears off pretty quickly and the glue starts to harden.

Anyone know where to get the silver (amber when lit) replacement bulbs? Shift_9K, I think you mentioned that you knew where to get them.

I thought that we could do them at the BBQ, however, it looks as if there's going to be a full house for the day. Clearing headlights may not be a possibility that day. However, the next day or the following weekend could work.

I'd rather just leave the wash bucket and the hose out for car washes. Damon, as for detailing the car. If you come over before the BBQ starts, I'll take care of it then. Otherwise, I think I need to play "good" host and tend to people during much of the BBQ. We'll talk.

BTW, whenever we do set up the headlight clearing day, I just picked up a high temperature heat gun last night. That should help us save some time when used in conjunction with the oven.
