as I metioned in the introduction I'll be moving up there next month. I have my S and a Chevy Z71. I'm only bringing one vehicle with me right now and I'm thinkin of doing the S in the summer and swapping to the Z for winter. my question before I start looking for residence is what is the crime like? would I be ok at an apartment with no garage? I'm coming from Dallas where at any moment the car isn't locked inside of something you stand a chance of losing something off/in it if not the whole car. just wondering what I should do.. thanks kindly

I should be able to help a bit, but I need to know where you are talking about. Are you looking into something in Jeffersonville/New Albany? Further north or west?
Most of the apartments around here have either a carport or a garage if you want to rent them.
Let us know where you are looking for an apartment.
Bob

I lived in Lewisville for the better part of a year before I moved to Indy. You will find things here are quite a bit more laid back than in Dallas, especially in S.E. Indiana.
I think that Boiler has the entire southern half of Indiana mapped out from all of our drives that we have done.

There isn't anything in Greensburg. I work with a few guys that live in Greensburg and all they do is sit at home or go to the local bar and drink or fight. For that you might as well move to Indianapolis on the Southeast side and it will only take you about 30 mins or less to get to work.

Good luck on the move. If we can do anything else to help, you let us know.
Walt is right about considering the south side of Indy. You may want to look at Franklin, Greenwood or Whiteland also.

how does this compare to there?
wouldn't be so bad for the commute if it was close.

Gas is pretty comparable here, apparently. Running around $2.30 give or take a nickel.
