need some help (2)
my dumb ass lost control turning onto a street last night...rear-ended some guy. it had been raining and i must've gassed it a little too much. still can't believe i did that...first accident since i started driving. cops came and said it was his fault though, since he was illegally parked, which was interesting.
anyway, what's a good body shop i can take the car to? the whole front is f'ed up (two big square-sized holes), and the left-front (around the headlight) is dented/scratched. doesn't look to be a cheap repair. any input is appreciated, thanks.

i'm pretty close to downtown. the car is driveable though, so if it's worth it to drive out an hour or whatever, it's not a problem.

i did a search on here, and it looks like another guy that had an accident with similar damages as me had to pay around $3k for repairs. does that sound about right?

Ouch!
Yeah, that looks like it's gonna be pricey. New fender, bumper, and hood. Probably scratched the hell out of the headlight too.
All that, without seeing what's under the body. I would probably go through my own insurance company. They will tend to fight more to get your car fixed right, than the other guys insurance company (since your insurance company will get the money from his insurance company in the end since he was ticketed.)
I have used Gerber in Schaumburg for collision repair (on my truck), and was happy with the result. I have my S2000 in a shop out in Huntley now that I am very happy with so far. However, that would be a hike from downtown.

neither of us were ticketed actually, the cops that showed up told us to say that the roads were slick. i'm not exactly sure what happens now -- a report was filled out at the station but it just had our information on it.
