Someone posted it in Car Talk yesterday, but people aren't being too kind in there so I haven't said anything. I feel safer posting in here

I understand the concept and think it's a good idea, people tend to forget the US isn't Honda's only market, so they're bitching about the (proposed) motor choices and size of the car. It's a proper S800 replacement, not an S2000 replacement, if it sells there's more chance of a new S2000 in the future.

Yeah, I like it. I hope it carries an S1300-S1600 badge reflective of displacement. Hell, I say bring back the B16 in a CRX sized RWD convertible! (I'm probably gonna get for this post).

Better yet maybe a S1000, S1000RR with a CBR1000RR engine, taking us back to Honda's true roots of basically stuffing bike engines in small cars. 178 hp, 13,000 rpm, sequential shift, light weight, I'm in.

The power to weight ratio is about 15+ lbs per hp which is worse than the current miata and frs/brz. I'm all for an entry level roadster but it needs to have better performance if they want to compete - especially since the ND miata is supposed to be lighter and more powerful. Glad to see Honda getting back into fun cars though (if the rumors are true).

If they do go with a fit based engine, thers plenty of aftermarket power goodies.

Are they just puking back out the Honda Beat info from 2 years ago????? I find it hard to believe that they would do a second light weight small engine drop top when there are so many other markets that need attention......

They are doing the Civic Type-R, and the NSX.
